Startium has announced the appointment of Darren Stewart as Head of Product, as the company continues expanding its platform capabilities and customer footprint across the entrepreneurship and economic development sector.
Darren joins Startium following three years working directly with the platform at the University of Strathclyde, where he played a key role in implementing and scaling Startium’s tools across multiple teams supporting entrepreneurs, innovation activity, and programme delivery.
Having worked extensively with the platform from a practitioner perspective, Darren brings a strong understanding of both the operational realities faced by entrepreneurship support organisations and the opportunities technology creates to improve delivery, collaboration, and impact measurement across the ecosystem.
In his new role, Darren will lead product strategy and development across Startium’s growing suite of digital tools, with a particular focus on platform integration, customer experience, and the continued implementation of AI capabilities throughout the product ecosystem.
His appointment comes at a significant stage in Startium’s growth as the company brings together its expanding range of digital tools under Startium OS, an integrated operating system designed specifically for entrepreneurship and economic development organisations.
Startium OS combines more than 20 connected tools into a single platform, enabling organisations to manage programme delivery, stakeholder engagement, referrals, events, reporting, property management, funding workflows, ecosystem collaboration, and data sharing across multiple partners.
The appointment also reflects Startium’s continued growth in Scotland, as it continues to be one of the company’s fastest growing regions. Darren will be based in Glasgow as Startium continues expanding its work across the UK and Europe, while also embarking on new opportunities within the US and Canadian markets.
Alongside the evolution of Startium OS, the company has also recently launched Startium Studio, a dedicated division focused on bespoke digital transformation projects, custom platforms, integrations, and AI enabled solutions for economic development organisations.
